2020 Grants in Aid of Wonderment
in the Time of Covid-19
In keeping with the AGO OrganFest’s theme of “beauty in the midst of chaos”,
Orgelkids USA is pleased to announce Grants in the Aid of Wonderment for 2020.
Orgelkids USA shall award four grants of $1,675 each from their Roger L. Danielson Family Fund towards the commissioning by AGO Chapters of the four remaining Orgelkids USA pipe kits of 2020. We intend for these grants to 1) aid AGO Chapters and members in their mission to inspire passion for the pipe organ once society emerges from the current pandemic, and 2) support the builders who lovingly craft the kits.
The deadline for commissions is October 1 2020.
- Procedure
- Email Orgelkids USA to request a sample Purchase Agreement to inform your chapter’s discussions around commissioning a 2020 kit. Information about commissioning a kit, including the costs associated with the process, can be found here.
- Once your chapter decides to move forward in commissioning a kit, provide us with the information necessary to complete the Purchase Agreement (names and positions of signatories, etc), and we’ll get a completed copy to you for signatures. This is the step that will secure one of the four remaining 2020 organ kits and needs to happen by October 1st 2020.
- The fully signed Purchase Agreement needs to be completed and returned to the builders for their signature, accompanied by a first payment. This is due to the builders two weeks after the customized Purchase Agreement is delivered to the AGO chapter representative.
- The grant monies shall be distributed directly from Orgelkids USA: $1,500 to the builders, and we shall waive our $175 Program Fee, for a total value of $1,675 representing ~20% of costs
- The grant is for AGO Chapters commissioning their first Orgelkids USA kit. AGO Chapters that already have an Orgelkids kit do not qualify for a grant, nor may these grants apply to a prior commission.
- A maximum of four grants will be awarded and apply to the four remaining Orgelkids USA kits to be produced in 2020.
